Hi, I'm Bill and I instruct Obedience at the RKOC. I have done a little bit of showing dogs, but my primary focus is Obedience. I have earned both my Companion Dog (CD) and Pre Companion Dog (PCD) titles on my dogs as well as Canine Good Neighbour and Canine Good Citizen awards with my dogs. Right now I have a male Rottweiler and a female Belgian Tervuren, both very active and high drive working dogs. Previously I have had a smallish terrier cross, Rottweilers, a Springer Spaniel and a Doberman cross breed. I firmly believe that there is no "one size fits all" training method, and use a variety of training techniques depending on both the dog and the student. My goal as an instructor is to ensure that my students leave the class with a better understanding of what motivates their dogs and for them to have the tools they need to allow them to have a better behaved and better trained dog and to lay a foundation that they can build on for training their dogs.
