Vicky

I joined the RKOC in 1976 when I became interested in doing obedience with my female GSD> I joined a scent hurdle team and our team The Bad News Bears were the #1 team in Saskatchewan for 9 years. During this time I apprenticed to become an instructor and to this date I am still teaching. Because of my health issues I cannot handle any dogs over 20 pounds so that limits me to puppies and small dogs now. I have instructed all levels of obedience.

After working with Superdogs, Anja and I started fun agility within the club and we did demos with the horse/dog relays for Therapeutic Riding. That was before Agility became a competitive sport.

I have trained my German Shepherds, American Cocker Spaniels and Shih Tzus to many titles in my years of competing. I have trained some of these dogs to the Utility degree but have not acheived the UD title. I do have PCD's, CD's, CDX's and CGN titles. I have found my Shih Tzus to be the most challenging breed that I have trained. I plan to train and compete with a Coton de Tuleur before I hang up my leash for good.

I have attended Bob Self Obedience seminars in the USA and helped put together a kindergarten class for young puppies which has proved to be very successful. I take pride in assisting new puppy owners to acheive well mannered and obedient puppies and also assisting students who compete for their obedience titles.
